AMEXPO TOUR 2010 presented by Discraft CONTINUES IN PÓLVA, ESTONIA

The final tournament of the tour, the traditional MIHKLIPÄEVA TURNIIR, will be played in PÓLVA, Estonia, on the famous MÄEOTSA COURSE on September 25 – 26. 2010.

DIVISIONS: Open Pro
Amateurs (includes Juniors 16, Women and Seniors 50, 60 and 70 (Grandmasters, Senior Grandmasters and Legends).

The Mäeotsa Disc Golf Park in Pólva, Estonia, is the first permanent Frisbee Golf Course in Estonia. Since 2006 it has been operating as an 18-hole course. The traditional MihklipäevaTurniir, Tournament of Michaelmas, is again here, now part of the Amexpo Tour.

Mäeotsa Disc Golf Course is an exciting, challenging course set in an idyllic, Rousseauistic country setting with a couple of brooks set deep in jungle-like gorges, an old farm house with old fashioned Estonian charm, some open space, some tight fairways for the skilled.

The format of the tournament is as follows:
Saturday, September 25 1st round at 10.00 18 holes Mäeotsa
2nd round at 14.00 18 holes Mäeotsa

Sunday, September 26 3rd round at 9.00 18 holes Mäeotsa
Short break for coffee
FINAL 7 holes for the 5 best in the Open Division

The entry fee is 25 Euros (or equivalent in kroonis) and it includes maybe the most beautiful disc ever, a Full Color Buzzz.

By popular demand there will also be a PAIRS TOURNAMENT (best shot) on Friday, September 24. Starting times between 14 and 18, entry fee 10 €/pair, minimum 2 pairs at a time, return percentage 80 divided for the 3 best pairs at 40/25/15.

MAMMASTE TERVISESPORDIKESKUS (Mammaste Health Sport Center) offers hotel quality accommodation. Prices will be published shortly.
On Saturday night there is a Grill Party, putting contests, Led contest etc. Bring your own, a hot grill provided! There will be drinks available for a modest fee.

MÄEOTSA DISC GOLF PARK is situated in Pólva, about 50 km southeast of Tartu, on a beautiful Estonian farm with a brook running through the course and some steep hills and canyons. You will find the place most interesting. The driving time to Tallinn is about 3 hours and distance about 230 km. The distance from the center of Pólva is 4 km.
DRIVING ISTRUCTIONS from Tallinn: Take Tartu Highway ( Tartu Mnt, Highway 2) south, pass Tartu from the right following signs to Vóru. There are 4 traffic circles (roundabouts) a couple of kilometres apart; go straight through all of them. After the fourth one drive 8 km, turn left on road 61 towards Pólva. Entering Pólva go right in the first traffic circle. The second circle is more like an oval. Go straight = circle first right and then left. There will be a gas station on the left. Drive 700 meters and you will pass a stand of trees and a building on the left, after that turn left on a gravel road (second road from the gas station). About 25 meters from the turnoff there is a lone tree on the left. Follow the winding, hilly road for 2,2 km, turn left on an even smaller road (there is a white brick house on the right). On the right of the dirt road there is an open electric transformer. Follow the road into yard.
Pólva is easy to reach also from the south, e.g. Riga, on Highway A2 = E77, then turn towards Vóru on Estonian Hwy 2 and road 64 towards Pólva.
